President Al-Bashir Returns Home after his Participation at African Summit in Libya
Khartoum, July 2 (SUNA)
President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, Thursday evening returned home after his participation at the 13th Summit of the African Union which was held in Serte, Libya. In a statement at Khartoum Airport, the Presidential Advisor, Dr. Mustafa Osman Ismail, described the 13th African Union summit as successful and very important because it lays down the foundation for a unionist African work in the future. "The summit focused discussion on three issues of food security and agricultural investment in Africa, the government of the African Union and the disputes in Africa" he said adding that the President's address at the summit shed light on the agricultural potentialities in Sudan and the being exerted with the context of the National Green Agricultural Campaign.
Dr. Mustafa affirmed that Sudan was putting all its agricultural resources for the interest of the food security in Africa. "The President's address also tackled the situation in Sudan, the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) and the developments in Darfur issue, President Al-Bashir has participated at the NEPAD, IGAD and Peers Mechanism summit which were held on the sidelines of the 13th African Union summit in Serte " He said.
He indicated that President Al-Bashir met with a number of presidents
and heads of state on the sidelines of the African Union summit and
discussed issues in the summit's agenda and exchanged views, the
developments in Sudan and their respective countries as well as the
general situations in Africa and the world.
He said that the talks between the Sudanese and American parties on the
sidelines of the African summit tackled the situation in Sudan,
implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) and the
developments in Darfur issue as well as the ongoing efforts for success
of the Doha negotiations.
Dr. Ismail described the meetings between the Sudanese and American
parties as fruitful and would have positive impact on Darfur issue and
the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA).

President Al-Bashir to Inaugurate Sunday Al-Safat Planes Complex
Khartoum, July 2 (SUNA)
President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, is due to inaugurate next Sunday Al-Safat Planes' Manufacturing Complex.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Industry, Dr. Jalal Yousif Al-Degair, said that occasion will be a landmark step in the progress of the industrial sector in Sudan. He said that the objectives of Al-Safat complex include the assembling, manufacturing and maintenance of air planes internally.

Arab League Welcomes Sudan Political Will for Implementing Comprehensive Peace Agreement
Serte, Libya, July 1 (SUNA)
The Secretary General of the Arab League, Amro Musa, has expressed the Arab League's support to Sudanese political will to surpass the challenges facing the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA).
In his address at the opening sitting of the 13th African Union Summit in Serte, Libya, Wednesday, Musa said that the dialogue between the Sudanese parties and the concerned regional and international parties will boost the peace process in Sudan.
Musa underscored the important role of the development and unity projects toward making unity as the attractive choice and preventing the harmful intervention. He reiterated the keenness of the Arab League and the African Union to cooperate with the United Nations to support the implementation of Darfur peace agreement (CPA) which was signed in the year 2006. He referred to the endeavours for normalization of the relations between Sudan and Chad. Musa said that the team of African experts, which was formed by the African Union under chairmanship of the former South African President, Thapo Mbeki, can play a major role for solution of Darfur issue.
