The Northern State

It is bordered to the north by Egypt, to the west Libya, to the south North Kordofan State and to the east Nahral-Neel State. It is a border state that is neighboured by two Arab States.

Area: 348,756 square kilometres.

Population: 600,000.

Capital: Dongola.

Natural Resources:
The area of the state's arable lands amounts to 4 million feddans. In addition to the River Nile, the state is also rich of underground water (the Nubian basin). It's most important exports are dates, fruits and spices. The animal resources in the state are estimated at two million heads. The state lies on the animal-disease-free zone.
